Google Calendar and Google Hangouts, the staples of Internet socializing and scheduling, are currently down for many users.

When trying to open Google Calendar, many users are being redirected to a page that says it is currently having a server error, although the cause is unknown.
Hangouts seems to be more stable, although some users are having issues joining and hosting conference calls.
It’s unclear how widespread this outage is, but from the complaints on Twitter, it’s affecting users worldwide.

Oh that's cool, @googlecalendar is down two days before my wedding. Not like I needed any of those details or anything. Thanks, Google.

To stay on top of the status of Google’s different services, you can check out its App Status Dashboard( https://www.google.com/appsstatus#hl=en&v=status ) , although it can be a little delayed. The dashboard currently shows Hangouts as green and Calendar as orange, which means “Service disruption,” and not the full-on red “Service outage.”
Google has had some major service disruptions before, like when its third-party login service went down in April, which lasted for about two hours.
