The Federal Government on Tuesday launched its solar power rural electrification project with a plan to light up 20, 000 households in northern part of the country in the next one year.
The solar power project according to the government will be extended to other 70 million Nigerians not connected to the national grid.
Meanwhile the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says that the nation’s power generation improved slightly to 3, 528 megawatts yesterday from a little above 2, 000 megawatts on January 22.
This figure was disclosed on the website of the Nigerian Electricity System Operator (so), a sub-agency of the TCN, in its daily forecast on power generation
“the slight increase in generation is attributed to an increase in gas supply to some generating companies (GENCOS).
