Nasa’s Perseverance Rover Successfully Lands In Mars

The NASA Perseverance rover successfully landed on Mars at 3:55 p.m. ET Thursday, in a deep crater near the planet’s equator called Jezero.

On the distance, the agency confirmed at 3:55 p.m. ET Thursday that the journey was about 292.5 million-mile from Earth.

According to the mission’s team, the rover landed itself flawlessly.

In reaction to the development, the mission’s deputy project manager, Matt Wallace said, “The good news is the spacecraft, I think, is in great shape,”

Apart from the comments made, there were expressions of happiness as Engineers at Nasa’s mission control in California erupted with joy when the confirmation of touchdown came through.

On the target project, there is a plan to search for evidence of past life, which will make the six-wheeled vehicle spend at least the next two years drilling into the local rocks.

Going memory lane, Jezero is thought to have held a giant lake billions of years ago.

It it has come their understanding that there is water, there’s the possibility there might also have been life.
