Nasa To Fly Helicopter On Mars For First Time

National Aeronautics and Space Administration is set carry out a test of the first helicopter on planet Mars.

If the test by Nasa is successful, it will be the first time an helicopter will fly on another planet.

In February 2021, Ingenuity, a 1.8kg (4lb) helicopter travelled to Mars inside Nasa’s Perseverance rover, and landed there.

Nasa is currently at the stage of a test which will take place on Monday 19 April. At the moment, the probability if their trial will be a success is not certain.  If it turns out to be so, they have resolved at trying again later in the week.

According to BBC science reporter Laura Foster and Nasa systems engineer Farah Alibay, flying on the Red Planet isn’t straightforward.
