Jeff Bezos Set To Visit Space With 18-Year-Old Dutch

High school graduate, Oliver Daemen is about to make history as the youngest person to visit space after taking a spot in Blue Origin’s first flight.

The schedule of his journey was concluded after another passenger who paid $28 million for the seat had a scheduling conflict.

Daemen, 18, who is planning to fly to the edge of space already had a plan to attend the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands this fall.

The flight is slated for July 20, coincides with the 52nd anniversary of the landing of Apollo 11 on the moon and will also have Mr. Bezos, who just stepped down as chief executive of Amazon.

Mr. Bezos announced last month that he would be one of the passengers when his rocket company, Blue Origin, conducts its first human spaceflight.

Meanwhile, Blue Origin’s first flight will follow Richard Branson’s Flight to the edge of space built for the company he founded, Virgin Galactic.
