Normalcy have returned to social media services Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram after an outage occurred on Monday, for six hours.
According to Facebook, the incidence occurred as a result of an internal technical issue in the company.
One major effect of the issue, which has been regarded as the largest failure it had ever seen, was that most users of the social media networks were not able to use the platforms the way they do, regularly, both on smartphone apps.
So far, at least 10.6 million problems were reported globally after a Down detector tracked the outages.
The six hours outage was occurred between 16:00 GMT and was restored at 22:00.
Facebook also revealed that there was a faulty configuration change which affected the company’s internal tools and systems and complicated attempts to resolve the problem.
Meanwhile, the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg has apologised to those affected by the outage.
