Uber, a foremost ride-hailing company, on Tuesday, released new features to improve the experience of users in Nigeria. These features will ensure the safety of riders and drivers, increase earning capacity of drivers, and hassle-free delivery of goods.
UberX Saver feature allows drivers get a better chance at earning more even during off-peak periods by providing more rides, so they do not stop driving and earning. This feature will soon be in Port-Harcourt and will be introduced to other parts of the country.
Uber Connect a delivery service that will enable users deliver goods and parcels to consumers and small business owners without hassles. The service is already in Lagos, Nigeria and will be introduced to Ibadan and Port Harcourt. Uber Connect is already in South Africa, Uganda, Kenya, and Ghana.
To improve the security of users, Uber in collaboration with Sety, a vetted private security response company will provide security and medical assistance during trips. Using a connected device, users can alert a security response unit nearest to them for emergency assistance.
Uber promised to keep raising the bar on safety by taking advantage of the latest smartphone technology to ensure users are safe.
