More than a month after the data storage chip maker announced a security breach, Western Digital Corp (WDC.O) said on Friday that it has restored My Cloud services and anticipated that customer access to its online shop will return to normal in the week of May 15.
The majority of the affected systems and services were operating, according to Western Digital, who claimed it is making progress in the restoration process.
According to a statement from Western Digital, the “unauthorized party” accessed from its systems customer names, phone numbers, and partial credit card data.
The business announced that it will speak with impacted clients individually and that it was looking into the accuracy of the data.
Western Digital said that its factories remained open during the incident and that it was still sending goods.
