Amazon builds an AWS cloud area and invests $7.2 billion in Israel

Amazon.com debuted its Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in Israel on Tuesday and announced plans to invest nearly $7.2 billion there through 2037.

The country’s government will be able to operate programs and store data in data centers that are located in Israel thanks to Amazon’s cloud services in the area.

According to Yali Rothenberg, Israel’s accountant general, “the establishment of the Region will enable us to migrate significant governmental workloads to the cloud and we are confident that it will help us accelerate digital transformation in the public sector.”

Companies including Netflix, General Electric, and Sony use Amazon’s cloud computing platform, or AWS, to enable storage, networking, and remote security.

The business added that with the expansion, AWS will be accessible in 32 different locations and that its investment in Israel will boost Israel’s GDP by around $13.9 billion.
